Mateos 3, 13-17 Matthew 3: 13-17

APENAS FUE BAUTIZADO, JESUS VIO EL ESPIRITU DE DIOS DESCENDER SOBRE EL.

Jesus fue desde Galilea hasta hasta el Jordan y se presento a Juan para ser bautizado por el. Juan se resistia, diciendole: "Soy yo el que tiene necesidad de ser bautizado por ti, !y eres tu el que viene a mi encuentro!". Pero Jesus le respondio: "Ahora dejame hacer esto, porque conviene que asi cumplamos todo lo que es justo". Y Juan se lo permitio. Apenas fue bautizado, Jesus salio del agua. En ese momento se abrieron los cielos, y vio al Espiritu de Dios descender como una paloma y dirigirse hacia el. Y se oyo una voz del cielo que decia: "Este es mi hijo muy querido, en quien tengo puesta toda mi predileccion".

Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan
to be baptized by him.
John tried to prevent him, saying,
“I need to be baptized by you,
and yet you are coming to me?”
Jesus said to him in reply,
“Allow it now, for thus it is fitting for us
to fulfill all righteousness.”
Then he allowed him.
After Jesus was baptized,
he came up from the water and behold,
the heavens were opened for him,
and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove
and coming upon him.
And a voice came from the heavens, saying,
“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”
